The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly impacted children's daily lives, educational processes, and health conditions in Turkey and across the world. The social restrictions and curfews enforced during the pandemic led to children, particularly those living in urban areas, being confined indoors, experiencing restricted movement spaces, and facing disruptions in peer interactions. In education, face-to-face instruction shifted to distance learning supported by EBA and television; however, the lack of internet access and digital devices exposed a distinct inequality of opportunity among students. While preschool, primary school, and special education students were among the most challenged groups in distance learning, parents' roles and responsibilities in children's learning processes increased significantly. The necessity of staying home substantially increased children's screen time, reduced their physical activity levels, and widespread sedentary lifestyles. Prolonged screen time exposed children to unhealthy food advertisements and increased the risk of physical health issues such as obesity and myopia, as well as technology addiction. Furthermore, the economic and psychological anxieties experienced by families during the pandemic generated negative outcomes in children—such as distraction, fear, separation anxiety, behavioral problems, and heightened anxiety—thereby adversely affecting their psychological well-being.
