CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning training method developed by Greg Glassman in 1995, based on constantly varied, high-intensity, and functional movements. The primary objective of the method is to enhance overall fitness and fully prepare individuals for any unknown and unpredictable physical situations. Embracing the principle of "Evidence-Based Fitness", this system brings together exercises from highly diverse categories such as Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, sprints, plyometrics, and rope climbing. CrossFit workouts aim to develop both aerobic and anaerobic cardiorespiratory endurance, muscle strength, flexibility, explosive power, speed, agility, and balance much faster than traditional methods. Thanks to "scalability," one of the most important characteristics of the application, athletes with different fitness and skill levels as well as sedentary individuals can safely perform a similar workout of the day (WOD) routine together. High-intensity interval training methods such as For Time, AMRAP, and EMOM are frequently preferred in the CrossFit model, systematically engaging the phosphagen, glycolytic, and oxidative energy pathways. A rich variety of exercises performed with barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, gymnastics rings, pull-up bars, and body weight elevates individuals' cardiovascular capacity, motivation, and overall performance to a high level.
